CAMBRIDGE - Dorothy M. Hoge, 93, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Baltimore on March 20, 1913, and was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ida Riley Deatrich.
Mrs. Hoge attended school in Baltimore. On Aug. 11, 1931, she married Earle E. Hoge, who passed away on July 5, 2002. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and antiques. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Marian H. Slacum and Doris H. Weber, both of Cambridge; two granddaughters, Gail W. Skinner of Cambridge and Carrie S. Hertel of Cambridge; four grandsons, Charles J. Weber, Jr., David S. Weber, Patrick A. Weber and Brian E. Slacum, all of Cambridge; 10 great-grandchildren, Diana Weber, Laura Weber, Michelle Weber, Traci Weber, Jacob Weber, Susan Skinner, Cheryl Slacum, Christopher Slacum, Madeline Fishpaw, Evan Fishpaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Crompton, Virginia Bonneville; and by two brothers, Fred Deatrich and Bill Deatrich.
Pallbearers will be Charles J. Weber Jr., David S. Weber, Patrick A. Weber, Brian Slacum, Gene Skinner and John Hertel.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Joan P. Evans officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 Whitehall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
