CAMBRIDGE - Doris M. Pritchett, 83, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at the Dorchester General Hospita1.
She was born in Cambridge on Sept. 13, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Oscar P. and Nora Carey Lyons.
She attended schools in Cambridge. On Oct. 15, 1945, she was married to Stanley W. Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett passed away on Aug. 13, 1982.
Mrs. Pritchett had worked at Rob Roy in Cambridge until she retired. As a young girl she had attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church; and had been a member of Souls Harbor Church of God for a number of years.
Mrs. Pritchett enjoyed spending time with her family, chatting with friends, watching wildlife and praying. She was stricken at her home on Saturday and was taken to Dorchester General Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Doris L. Pritchett-Baker and her husband, Fred A. Baker of Cambridge; one son, Buddy Pritchett and his wife, Anne Pritchett of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Brian L. Pritchett and his wife, Jennifer Pritchett of Cambridge, Robyn A. Planner of Federa1sburg; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Planner and Brooke Planner, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Benjamin Lyons, Oscar Lyons, Marvin Lyons, Eugene N. Lyons and Dr. Kenneth Lyons, and three sisters, Nora Bargman, Bessie Johnson and Mildred Thorne.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Souls Harbor Church of God on Peachblossom Avenue in Cambridge with the Rev. J. Edward King officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613.
Pallbearers will be Nick Lyons, Frank Thorne, Brian Pritchett, Bobbe K. Brooks, Marilyn J. Nace, Johnnie Rossy and Planner Windsor.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
