Theft and fraud
The Cambridge Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating a theft scheme stemming from an incident that occurred Sept. 7. A woman has been arrested in connection with the case.
The suspect is accused of photographing credit and debit cards of patients/customers obtaining services at Your Doc’s In at 300 Sunburst Highway, Cambridge during her employment, as well as her prior employment at Walgreens at 640 Sunburst Highway, Cambridge. The credit/debit cards were used to purchase items online from various websites.
Detectives are looking for additional victims who have had their bank accounts compromised with unauthorized purchases after using their cards at either of these locations from November 2021 to September 2022.
On Sept. 12, Cambridge Police Department detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into a theft scheme/fraud incident from Walgreens. The original reported incident was reported to CPD on Oct. 8, 2021. CPD detectives identified the suspect as a former employee at Walgreens. Through investigation, it was found that the suspect had taken pictures of the victims’ credit/debit cards and then fraudulently used the credit/debit cards to purchase items at multiple locations totaling $4,022.05.
On Sept. 27, CPD detectives completed an Application of Charges with the District Court Commissioner’s Office where an arrest warrant was issued.
On Sept. 28, detectives arrested the suspect at the Dorchester County Detention Center, where she was being held on other theft charges. She was served the arrest warrant, had her initial appearance before a court commissioner and was returned to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.
Jayonna M. Best was charged with 33 counts of use or disclosure of credit card numbers; two counts of theft scheme $1,500 to under $25,000; fraud ID info theft $1,500 to under $25,000; and 26 counts of credit card personation less than $100.

Home invasion and assault
On Sept. 14, Cambridge Police officers responded to the 400 block of Muir Street for a reported home invasion and assault. A suspect was identified and an arrest warrant was issued.
On Sept. 18, officers served the warrant on Price Alexander McCoy, who was charged with home invasion, burglary first degree, robbery, assault second degree, burglary third degree, burglary fourth degree. He was turned over to the Dorchester County Detention Center on no bond.
Theft
On Sept. 23, Cambridge officers responded to Walmart for a theft in progress. They located the suspect fleeing from the store with merchandise. The suspect was immediately detained.
Tyrek Sincere Meekins was issued a criminal citation for theft $100 to under $1,500.
At that time, Meekins had an active arrest warrant through the Cambridge Police Department for a theft incident that occurred at Walmart on Sept. 21. He was transported to the Cambridge Police Department where he was served with the warrant.
Meekins was charged with theft $100 to under $1,500, burglary fourth-degree theft, and trespassing on private property.
Meekins was also found to have an active bench warrant from Talbot County for failure to appear for court on Sept. 9 on an original charge of theft. He was served the bench warrant and turned over to the Dorchester County Detention Center on no bond.
Check fraud
On May 14, Cambridge Police Department officers conducted an investigation from Walmart for check fraud. The investigation showed that the incident occurred between November 2019 through February 2020 when more than $32,000 was stolen. Through investigation, a suspect was identified, and an arrest warrant issued for Beatherine Savage.
On Sept. 14, Savage was located in Milford, Delaware, by the Milford Police Department, and detained. On Sept. 23, Cambridge police extradited Savage back to Maryland, where she was served the arrest warrant and turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on $10,000 bond.
She was charged with forgery, theft scheme $1,500 to under $25,000, and 18 counts of theft $100 to under $1,500
First-degree assault
On Sept. 25, Cambridge police officers responded to the 600 block of Pine Street for a disturbance. Investigation revealed that a man had pulled a “Tec-9” pistol and pointed it at another subject. The suspect was identified and an arrest warrant was issued for Wilbur Lee Adams.
Officers located Adams in the 400 block of High Street, where he was arrested and transported to the police department, where he was served with the arrest warrant. He was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, handgun on person, firearm use felony violent crime, and reckless endangerment.
Adams was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.
Failure to appear
On Sept. 20, Cambridge police officers located a subject on High Street at Gay Street who had an active body attachment. Officers arrested Patrice Monique Young, who was transported to the Cambridge Police Department, where she was served the body attachment for failure to appear. Young was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections.
Assault
On Sept. 24, Cambridge police officers located a subject who had an active arrest warrant in the 400 block of Charles Street. Adrene Renea Abrams Moals was arrested and transported to the Cambridge Police Department, where the warrant was served.
The alleged incident occurred between another citizen on Sept. 20 in the 400 block of Charles Street.
Moals was released on $5,000 unsecured bond on the following charges: first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and stalking.
Violation of probation
On Sept. 26, Cambridge police officers served a bench warrant for violation of probation on a man. Marceluus Roosevelt Dockins was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.
Failure to appear
On Sept. 26, Cambridge police officers responded to District Court to serve a bench warrant on a woman. She was located in the courthouse, where she was arrested and transported to the Cambridge Police Department.
Danielle Nicole Pedicore was served with the bench warrant charging her for failure to appear for court on Sept. 26. Pedicore was released on personal recognizance.
Theft
Cambridge police officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting incident. Contact was made with asset protection personnel, who had detained a subject who had concealed merchandise on her person in attempt to steal the items.
Melody Mae Jackson was issued a criminal citation and released on a charge of theft $100 to under $1,500.
Warrant arrest
Cambridge Police Department officers were in the area of Walmart when they located a subject who had an active warrant.
Donald Richard Lauck was arrested and transported to CPD where two bench warrants were served for failure to appear in court on Sept. 20 on an original charge of trespassing. Lauck was seen by a court commissioner and turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.
CDS violation
On Sept. 22, a Cambridge Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on High Street at Lincoln Terrace. Contact was made with the operator of the vehicle, who was identified as Joshua Mark Vollmer. During a course of the traffic stop, a K9 Unit from Dorchester County Sherriff’s Office was requested to assist.
A K9 sniff was conducted of the vehicle by DSO K9, which resulted in a positive alert. A search of the vehicle revealed a vape pen with cannabis.
Vollmer was released on the following citations: driving on suspended license; driving without a license; driving with suspended registration; and civil citation for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams
CDS violation
Cambridge police officers were on a foot patrol in the area of Douglas and Wells streets when a subject was observed driving a vehicle with no seat belt. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 block of Douglas Street. The driver was identified as Kaywaun Tyrone Myers.
During the course of the traffic stop, a CPD K9 Unit conducted a K9 sniff of the vehicle for the presence of narcotics, which resulted in a positive alert. A search of the vehicle uncovered a small quantity of oxycodone.
The vehicle was also found to have switched tags, unregistered and no insurance. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Myers was released on the following traffic and criminal citations: CDS possession not cannabis (Oxycodone); unregistered vehicle; plates issued to another vehicle; driving with expired registration; unauthorized display of registration plates; and driving uninsured vehicle.
