The Dorchester General Hospital Foundation Inc. is a local nonprofit supporting physical and mental health in Dorchester County through the University of Maryland Shore Health facility in Cambridge. The group funds equipment needs there and continuing education for nurses working or residing in Dorchester County and Dorchester County high school students.

The organization has three scholarships available:

  2. Scholarships for Nursing Education, also under the Jesse Stevens Fund, are available up to $2,000 upon application approval. This is available for Dorchester County graduate nurses or currently enrolled nurses as well as high school seniors entering nursing programs.
  3. $1,000 to $2,000 one-year renewable scholarships are available for Dorchester County High School seniors entering medical-related programs. This is funded by the DGH Foundation and called the DGH Foundation Medical Scholarship.
