Rena Brooks, left, FSNE faculty extension assistant; Emily Zobel, center, Agriculture Faculty extension assistant and Lisa Trice, right, administrative assistant have recently joined the University of Maryland Extension service in Dorchester.[/caption] CAMBRIDGE — Rena Brooks is the new faculty extension assistant for the Food Supplement Nutrition Education Program. She completed her B.A. in Elementary Education from Wilmington University in 2006. She is a life-long resident of Dorchester County and has worked here her entire life. Rena has many years of experience working within the local public and private school systems, wearing many hats including math teacher and special education teacher and most recently worked as a sales leader for T.W. Investigations promoting child identification cards. She currently resides in Cambridge with her husband and two children and looks forward to serving the residents of Dorchester, Caroline, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. Emily Zobel is the new agriculture faculty extension assistant for the University of MD Extension Dorchester County. She received her B.S. in Ecology and M.S. in Entomology from the University of Maryland College Park. Her thesis work focused on the feeding and reproductive habits of the brown marmorated stink bug on vegetable crops. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a lab and field technician for the entomology department conducting research on pesticides usage and sustainable agriculture practices. Outside of work she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, sewing, and reading. Lisa Trice comes to the University of MD Extension with over 20 years of Administrative experience, and is very excited to start a new venture with the Extension Office. Lisa spent several years in the hospitality business working for the Hyatt. She is an Eastern Shore native, having grown up in Dorchester County and now resides in Easton. She has three grown children still in the area. When not at work, Lisa enjoys spending time in or around the water; but most enjoys cooking.
