Board of Education Policy Committee

The Board of Education of Dorchester County Policy Committee will hold a Policy Review Meeting on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Board Room at the Central Office of the Board of Education at 700 Glasgow St. in Cambridge.

Lexia Super Heroes

Teachers at North Dorchester Middle School congratulated last week’s Lexia Super Heroes. Lexia Heroes is a literacy program used around the nation.

Grade 6:

Mason Harrison, Brentlie Higginbotham, Makayla Megginson, Abrielle Rookard, Yi'Arah Jackson, Savannah Travers and Christopher Landrie.

Grade 7:

Everette Hinmon, Brayden Romero-Shaw, Shykeem Johnson and Martin Sinkledam.

Grade 8:

Braden Presley, Phoebe Elzey and Precious Smith.

CSD Board Representatives

Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Board Representatives for the 2024-2025 school year were announced last week.

Te’kai Drummond will serve as student board representative, with Emma Robinson being the alternate student board representative.

NDMS Summer Academy

Registration information for the North Dorchester Middle School Summer Academy is being mailed to families. They are asked to take note of the following important dates.

May 31- PBIS Trip to Jolly Rogers

June 1 - 8th Grade ONLY Formal

June 7 - All devices collected

June 10 - 8th Grade locker clean out and picnic

June 11 - 8th Grade Promotional Ceremony (9 a.m.)

June 14 - Official last day of school students (half day)

June 19 - All county offices closed for Juneteenth

July 8 – Aug. 1 - NDMS Summer Academy

NDHS Spirit Days

Friday Spirit Days remaining at North Dorchester High School are: May 31, Twin Day; June 7, Tie Die Day; and June 14, Tropical Day.

NDMS Formal Dance

North Dorchester Middle School’s 8th Grade Formal Dance, "A Walk on the Red Carpet" will take place June 1, from 7-9 p.m. in the NDMS gymnasium. There will be a DJ, food, and a photo booth.

Tickets are available in the NDMS office for $5.

Apprenticeship Program

Cambridge-South Dorchester High School has been working to create an equitable and collaborative process for the Maryland Youth Apprenticeship Program. Administrators are asking that all students interested in the program complete the MD Youth Apprenticeship interest form.
