Dola V. Hayman

On Jan. 11, 2015, Dola V. Hayman was peacefully called to glory from the University of Md. hospital in Baltimore, Md. Ms. Dola as she was affectionately called was born on Feb. 11, 1930 in Easton, Md. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cornish and her mother, Dorothy Sutton Lewis. After being educated in Talbot County Schools her employment consisted of being a domestic engineer followed by an Instructional Assistant in the Talbot County Schools until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church in Unionville, Md. serving in several capacities. In addition to her husband, a daughter in law, Pamela Hayman preceded her in death. Ms. Dola is survived by her children, Wendell Hayman Jr. of Preston, Ronald (Tonya), Joseph (Karen), Lenwood (Carolyn) Hayman and Deborah (Anthony) Short, all of Easton, Larry Hayman of Tallahassee, Fla. and Glenwood (Leona) Hayman of Dover, Del.; two sister in laws, Edith and Roseanna Hayman; one brother in law, Lewis Burke; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, a special family, Maggie, Robert and Lewis and many, many friends. Ms. Dola will be always be remembered for her pleasant personality and infectious smile. Services will be held on Sat., Jan. 17th 2 p.m. at St. Marks UM Church 100 Peachblossom Rd Easton, with the family receiving friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment at St. Stephens Cemetery, Unionville.
