DoCo ambulance stolen, wrecked in Talbot

CAMBRIDGE — An ambulance belonging to Dorchester County Medical Services was reported stolen Friday evening. The vehicle was taken from University of Maryland Medical Center, formerly known as Dorchester General Hospital.

After a chase by Maryland State Police on westbound U.S. Route 50, the ambulance left the highway in the 5100 block of Ocean Gateway in the area of Tarbutton Mill Road.

The ambulance was identified as Medic Unit 500. Talbot County medical units and state police responded to the incident. A suspect was reported to be in police custody.
