Dickie 'Richard' Tawes, 75

SALISBURY - Dickie "Richard" Tawes, 75, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Crisfield on Dec. 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert and Katherine Evans Tawes. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and formerly worked for The City of Crisfield, NASA and NOAA. He is survived by his wife, Joan Tyler Tawes; a daughter, Julie Bailey (Scott); two sons, Richard Brent (Mary Beth) and Glenn. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Richie, Jennifer, Katelyn, Melissa and Christopher; and one brother, Preston Tawes. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, Jr. A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 12, at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733. Arrangements are in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.
