MT. AIRY - Diane Elizabeth Johnson Seymour, 56, formerly from Cambridge passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007.

Born in Cambridge, on April 26, 1951, she was the daughter of Julia Johnson and the late Rev. Nelson Johnson.

Diane was a graduate of Mace"s Lane High School, Class of 1969. She went on to attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and graduated with the class of 1975. While attending UMES she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. After graduation from college, Diane pursued a career in the insurance and mortgage industries and made her home in Mt. Airy.

Diane grew up a member of the National Church of God in Cambridge and was most recently a member of Warren United Methodist Church and a member of the Gospel and Truth Bible Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, Lannie Seymour, formerly from Cambridge and now of Mt. Airy; two children, Lynette Seymour of Columbia and John Seymour and his wife, Allison of Baltimore; two granddaughters, Ariel and Kimberleigh Seymour; her mother, Julia Johnson of Cambridge; her uncle, Clifford Jiles of Cambridge; her brothers, Mosi Osaze and wife, Faith, Cal Abram Johnson and wife, Connie and Derrick Johnson and wife, May; her sister, Maria Stubbs; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Tigle and husband, John; nieces and nephews and a number of cousins.

A viewing for family and friends is scheduled for today at Burrier Queen Funeral Home from 5:30-8 p.m. Diane"s Celebration of Life will be at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main St., Mt. Airy on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
