Derby (Patterson)
Delores Patricia Derby (Patterson) went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2023.
She was born on November 1, 1935 in Baltimore to the late Thomas and Isabell Patterson.
Pat attended University of Maryland College Park. Later she began working at Parkside High School, where she was employed for 40 years. She always referred to her former students as being "her kids".
Pat was a member of the Comforter's Prayer Group at St. Peter's, and she and her husband were one of the founding members of the Ward Foundation. After retirement she was a dedicated Hospice volunteer.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey A. Derby Jr.; a sister, Jean Craig; and her beloved dog, Ginger.
She is survived by three children, Mark (Kathy) Derby, Marlies Derby and Christopher (Wendy) Derby; her step-grandchildren, Jamie, Carrie, Brooke and Trey; a sister, Carolyn Jenkins; a special niece, Amanda Jenkins; and her beloved cat, Toby.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Dr., Salisbury, MD 21804.
