CAMBRIDGE — The Maryland Department of Aging is implementing a 60 percent cut to the Dorchester Senior Meals program effective July 1. These cuts will directly affect meals served in Dorchester’s two senior centers as well as home-delivered meals. These are made fresh and provided daily by Delmarva Community Services (DCS).
DCS is inviting the community to help. The agency is distributing coin collection jars to collect spare change to be donated to Dorchester seniors. Anyone wanting a jar may call 410-221-1900 or stop by the DCS’s offices.
A special concert, “Singing for Their Supper” is scheduled June 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at DCS with donations taken at the door.
Everyone is invited to make a donation. DCS. is at 2450 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge.
Anyone who can not attend the concert is welcome to send donations to the address above.
For more information, call Mary Handley at 443-521-3084.
