DCA presents Annual Community Photography Show

Now in the Galleries, Dorchester Center for the Arts (DCA) is pleased to present its Annual Community Photography & Digital Arts Exhibit and Competition Show and Sale. The exhibit runs from Sept. 29 through Nov. 12, and features photos in three divisions: Youth, Amateur Adult and Professional Adult. Community members are invited to stop in and cast their votes for a favorite (one vote per person) and the winner will be given the People’s Choice Award. An Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Second Saturday, Oct. 8, 5-7:30 p.m. Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd place in each division and also honorable mentions. DCA celebrates its 40th Dorchester Center for the Arts Showcase DCA celebrated its 40th Annual Showcase this past Sunday with art and food vendors, entertainment and a gathering of the community. State Senator Addie Eckardt was present to award citations from Governor Hogan and the Maryland Senate to commemorate the anniversary of the event. DCA extends its appreciation to the Nathan Foundation, 1880 Bank, Maryland State Arts Council, performers, artisans and all other vendors, volunteers and everyone in attendance for their support in helping to make the 2016 Dorchester Center for the Arts Showcase a success.
