DCA photography show winners announced

The Dorchester Center for the Arts (DCA) recently presented awards at its Second Saturday Artists’ Reception for its Annual Community Photography and Digital Arts Exhibit and Competition. DCA extends its appreciates to the judges for this year’s event, who were Karen Hanish, visual arts coordinator and art teacher at the Lab School of Washington in Washington, D.C., and Charles Ritter, professional photographer and member of the Tidewater Camera Club. Approximately 130 photos are in the exhibit and awards were given in three divisions: Youth, Amateur Adult and Professional Adult. During the judging process, all artists’ names are hidden so that judging is fair and impartial.

Winners received either cash prizes, ribbons or a gift certificate.

Youth

A few seats remain for Watkins Concert

For those who have yet to purchase their tickets, there is still time to buy them for the Ashley Watkins, Flutist, concert this Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at DCA. Ashley delighted audiences during her August performance and is returning with new selections.
