DELMAR - David Edward Chaphe, 75, of Delmar, died Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Bradford, Pa., he was the son of the late Earl James Chaphe Sr. and Vivian Hanson Chaphe. He attended high school in Randolph, N.Y., and a lifelong carpenter and cabinet maker. He attended Melson's United Methodist Church in Delmar and also drove a school bus for Wicomico County, Dove Pointe and Salisbury University. He is survived by his wife, Helen Frances Chaphe; four children, David Chaphe, Jr. of Florida, Jeff Chaphe, of Oklahoma, Dean Chaphe, of Virginia and Sandy Murphy, of Indiana; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Owens, of Delmar; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Earl Chaphe, Jr., Joyce Grover, Katherine Elliott and Charlotte Stowe. A funeral service was held Friday, August 26, 2016, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was at Wicomico Memorial Park.
