Dallis D. Gravenor

SALISBURY - Dallis D. Gravenor died Apr. 7, 2015, at Deer's Head Hospital Center. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Dorsey John Gravenor and Zillah Evelyn Goode Gravenor. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and the Eastern Shore Region Antique Car Club. He was self-employed as a roofing contractor. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene Dorothy Smullen Gravenor; three children, Faith G. DiMattia of Pocomoke, Kathy G. Pizza of Salisbury and Dallis Gravenor II of Salisbury; five grandchildren,; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Smullen of Long Neck, Mae Robertson of Salisbury and Elsie Smith of Eden; and nieces, nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Carroll Gravenor, and a sister, Gladys Tilghman. A funeral service with military honors was held on Sat., Apr. 11, 2015, at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Interment is private. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
