CAMBRIDGE — The Annual Crawfish Boil & Muskrat Stew Fest will bring muskrats, crawfish, blues music, and fun to Dorchester County on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. in Governor’s Hall at Sailwinds, Park Keith Graffius, the festival founder, says it is his favorite weekend of the year.

“This entire weekend we celebrate the culture of the Shore and Dorchester County. Friday and Saturday, we celebrate the National Outdoor Show in Golden Hill and on Sunday we have the Crawfish Boil & Muskrat Stew Fest in Cambridge,” he said. “The weekend was aptly nicknamed ‘Muskrat Weekend’ years ago by radio personality Big Don O’Brien and it stuck. Come join us for a fun and unique cultural experience!”

While at the festival, make sure you watch or participate in the World-Famous Muskrat Leg Eating Competition. The event begins at 5 p.m. Register to be part of the competition by going to the calendar of events at www.DorchesterChamber.org.

This is a family friendly event with plenty of children’s activities.
Blues legend Jimmy Cole returns with the 911 All-Stars to the headline this year’s festival. Cole began his career as a teenage Blue grass picker in county fairs and festivals but honed his craft in the challenging Cellar Door hootenanny sessions, where crowd reactions often determined the length of your set.

The result, many decades later, is a tireless and inspired blues performer with the ability to dip into his bluegrass roots to keep a crowd on its toes. He will be joined by his international touring band.

Craft beer, hand-crafted bloody Marys and orange crushes will be available, as well as non-alcoholic options. Craft vendors will also be on hand for the event this year. Admission is $5 and supports the Dorchester Chamber Foundation Scholarship Fund.
