MD-3xsa Franchot joins Salvation Army

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot recently joined the Salvation Army and guests at the Keynote Kickoff of the Salvation Army of the Mid-Shore Red Kettle Drive luncheon. Based in Cambridge, the Salvation Army of the Mid-Shore serves Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties. The kickoff encourages volunteerism and promotes the organization’s role. “The Salvation Army represents the highest ideals of the state of Maryland,” said Comptroller Franchot. “They philanthropically pitch in and help people in need. I encourage everybody to participate in the Red Kettle campaign this season. The Salvation Army represents Christian values of giving and helping those who are disadvantaged, and God knows we need that help. The Salvation Army fills a lot of the gaps that government can’t fill, and I’m terribly pleased to be here on the Shore supporting the Army, because they have a big geographic responsibility.” Pictured in the photo are Dorchester County Councilman Ricky Travers, Comptroller Peter Franchot, Salvation Army Lt. Aaron Abram, and local Advisory Board Chairman Allen Nelson.
