Collision takes life of driver
Firefighters from East New Market Volunteer Fire Company were on the scene of a fatal wreck Friday afternoon.
EAST NEW MARKET — A driver was killed in the early afternoon Friday, in a collision on Md. 16. The road was blocked in both directions for about two hours as emergency crews worked at the scene.
A car was seen wrecked in the southbound lane in front of Dorchester Dumpin’ at 5749 Mt. Holly Road. In front of the car, also stopped in the road, was a dump truck.
Details on the incident and the victim’s name have not yet been released. Personnel from East New Market Volunteer Fire Company, Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies, and Maryland State Police responded.
