CAMBRIDGE – Cambridge Multi Sport announced the recipients of its 2016 student scholarship awards. The students receiving the 2016 awards are Austin Loeffler of North Dorchester High School and from Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, Patrick Geleta. Student athletes were selected on the basis of Grade Point Average, number of years they participated in one or more of the Triathlon disciplines (Swimming, biking, running) and their answers to several questions about their healthy lifestyle, their community involvement and any obstacles they had to overcome to achieve their goals. The CMS student scholarship awards are worth $1,000 each. Mr. Geleta plans to attend University of Maryland and Mr. Loeffler plans to attend Virginia Tech. The awards were presented on May 9th 2016 at an IronClub MD Kick Off event, unveiling the medal sculpture of the IRONMAN “M-DOT” and celebrating the impact the sport of triathlon has on the local Dorchester County community.
