Clara Barkley

EDEN - Clara Ruth Feaster Barkley died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at her residence. Born in Chester, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Feaster Sr. and Nannie Cammon Feaster. Her husband, Marion M. Barkley Sr., preceded her in death in November.
A member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury, she served as a member of the Culinary and Soup Kitchen Ministries and former usher. Prior to retiring, she was employed by Campbell Soup Co. for 35 years. After retiring, she worked as a cook at Salvation Army and Big Daddy's.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Starks and Robin G. Wright; three sons, Marion M. Barkley Jr., Laval "Scooter" Barkley Sr. and Brett Barkley Sr.; three sisters, Martha Freeman, Nannie Long and Audrey F. Hines; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Feaster, David Feaster Laval Feaster and Michael Feaster.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
