SALISBURY - Christine Joynes died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Clarica Burnett and Esther Chavous, she was born and educated in Barnwell S.C., later relocating to Salisbury in 1956. She retired from Holly Center and was a member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church and served in many clubs. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Miller, of Baltimore, and Aaron Miller, of Eden; daughters, Zenora Miller, of Salisbury, and Margestine Brown, of Centreville, Va.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Esther Chavous, Jr., and Levi Chavous. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 22, 2016, at Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Interment was at Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Stewart Funeral Home by Holloway and Downey in Salisbury.
