SALISBURY - Charles R. Layfield passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Samuel Robert Layfield, Sr. and Ethel Mae Smullen Layfield. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Sylvia L. Webster. He at DuPont in Seaford, then the American Tobacco Co., and eventually for the Pillsbury Co. for 37 years as a salesman for the Eastern Shore Region. He was a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge 654. Preceding him in death were his wife, Sylvia, who passed away three days prior on Jan. 28, 2015; and a brother, Samuel R. Layfield Jr. He is survived by his two daughters, Vicki L. Bozman and Terri L. Hussey; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delsie Evans and Marie Bounds. A combined funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
