Charles H. 'Buddy' Collins, 79

EAST NEW MARKET - Charles H. "Buddy" Collins, 79, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

He was born April 15, 1929 in Baltimore, son of the late Thomas Henry Collins and Olga Gertz Collins.

Mr. Collins was a U.S. Army veteran. He married the former Joan English in 1952. He worked as a mechanic at Dupont in Seaford for 39 years, retiring in 1992.

Mr. Collins was a member of VFW Post 5246 in Federalsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Joan E. Collins of East New Market; two sons, Charles H. Collins Jr. of Baltimore and Gary Wayne Collins of Hurlock and his wife, Tarey; two daughters, Dr. Beverly A. Collins of Baltimore and Sherry Lynn Sinclair of Hurlock and her husband, Bill; four grandchildren, Ashlie Sinclair, Russell Sinclair, Haleigh Sinclair and Kaitlyn Sinclair; one sister, Ala Era of East New Market; several nieces and nephews, and Fluffy, his cat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Collins.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Zeller Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Beulah.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Era, Harvey Era Jr., William English Jr., Russell Sinclair, Thomas Tobat Jr. and Toby Donovan Sr.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 99, Secretary, MD 21664.
