HURLOCK - Charles "Buddy" Aldridge Jr., 73, died at his home, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2007.
Born on Nov. 15, 1933, in Petersburg, Dorchester County, he was the son of the late Charles Aldridge Sr. and Rachel Curbey Aldridge.
Buddy, as he was known, had worked at farms and factories He was employed at Caroline Poultry for many years.
Buddy liked to ride his scooter. He was well known for being able to fix anything. Surviving is a brother, Frederick Robert Aldridge of Federalsburg; a sister, Emma Elliott of Hurlock; six nieces and nephews, Shirley Caven and her husband, David of Hurlock, Allen Lake and his wife, Tracy of Cambridge, Montwanie Lake of Wilmington, Del., Telicia Waters of Seaford, Del., Donshirl Ricks of Federalsburg and Nikitia Lake of Easton; a special friend, Sherlmaine Lake Jenkins of Cambridge a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a sister, Irene Ellen Lake and a brother, Linwood Aldridge.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at Hurlock United Methodist Church, Hurlock, where the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Alan Gould, pastor of Bethel AME Church, Cambridge. Burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery, Hurlock.
Pallbearers will be Cokeland Wilson, Preston Lake, Alvin Lake, Herbert Johnson and Schuster Farrow.
Arrangements are being handled by the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
