Carol Hughes Blanchard

Carol Hughes Blanchard, 60

CAMBRIDGE - Carol Hughes Blanchard, 60, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 19, 2008.

She was born in New York on Jan. 19, 1948 and was a daughter of the late Herman M. Hughes and Florence Conrad Todd.

Carol attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1966. Carol had made her home in Virginia for the past 30 years and moved back to Cambridge in November of 2007. Some years ago she had worked at several locations in Cambridge including the Tastee Freeze and the Municipal Utilities Commission.

Carol enjoyed fishing and going to the beach as well as doing crafts. She passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday.

Survivors include a sister, Terry Jo Hurley of Cambridge; one brother, Mark Hughes and his wife, Sharon Hughes of Cambridge; stepfather, William A. Todd and his wife, Bernese Todd; her stepmother, Marie Hughes of Cambridge; a stepsister, Donna Sanson of Chesapeake, Va.; a stepbrother, David Todd of Cambridge; two nephews, Brian Hurley and Patrick Hurley, and her longtime companion, Sheba.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
