Carmela Mary LaNeve, affectionately known as "Camille", passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on September 5, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, she was a loving and generous soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Camille is survived by her devoted husband, Louis La Neve; her brother, Michael Santamauro; her loving children, Andrea Urban, (Mark), Louis La Neve, (Sarah), and Michelle La Neve. Camille was a proud grandmother to Ben and Haley Urban, Chloe and Emmy La Neve, Charlotte Waldron, and Blake and Malina Wilson. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Camille was preceded in death by her parents, Carmine "Tommy" and Concetta Santamauro; and her sister, Barbara Raimondi.
Camille's professional life reflected her commitment to service and her ability to connect with people. She served as an Office Manager at Bayshore Health Alliance in Keyport, New Jersey, where she was known for her meticulousness and strong ethics. Later, she transitioned to a role at Macy's in Salisbury, where she thrived as a makeup artist and sales associate. Her colleagues always spoke highly of her, not just for her professional skills, but also for her nurturing nature and readiness to lend a helping hand.
Camille had a deep love for her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that they will forever cherish. Her love for the beach was equally passionate. The tranquility of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought her comfort and peace, and it was a place where she loved to spend her time.
Her generous spirit was evident in every aspect of her life. Camille was always the first to offer help when someone was in need, often going out of her way to ensure the comfort of others. She was selfless in her actions, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her loving nature was infectious, making her a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her.
Services are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. A memorial service was held Monday, November 20, 2023 beginning at 6:00 pm. Visitation was one hour prior at Holloway Funeral Home.
