GALENA - Calvin C. Stewart Jr., 75, died Oct. 11, 2006, in his home.

Mr. Stewart was born on Nov. 9, 1930 in Cambridge, son of the late Calvin C. Sr. and Sylvia Tyler Stewart.

He was a 1947 graduate of Cambridge High School, and received an associate"s degree in engineering from Temple University. He was a design engineer for DuPont Company for 23 years, retiring in 1995.

In the early 1970s he managed a Little League team in Brandywine Hundred and was active with the Boy Scouts. In 1980 he and his wife moved to Galena where he was active with the MOT Senior Center. He was a member of Shrewsbury Parish Church.

Raised on the Eastern Shore, Mr. Stewart enjoyed fishing, boating, and wildlife. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and had a great love for animals.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Booth Stewart; six children - Karen Boulden (Andrew) and Donna Butz (Curtis) both of Warwick, Diane Walker of Chestertown, and Kim Francisco (James) of Raleigh, N.C., Calvin C. Stewart III (Helen) of Newark, Del., and Joseph Stewart (Lorin) of Cambridge; two sisters -Bessie McGlaughlin (Willis) of Cambridge and Barbara Foreman of Seaford, Del.; seven grandchildren - Sarah and Scott Boulden, Daniel Taylor, David, "Tee", Jessie, and Tyler Stewart, and three great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Taylor; five brothers - Richard, Benjamin, Roy, Frank and Wallace Stewart and a sister, Kathleen LeCompte.

Friends called on Saturday, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. in Shrewsbury Parish Church, Rt. 213 Kennedyville. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
