CAMBRIDGE – Dorchester Center for the Arts announces a call for entries for the February 2024 community exhibition entitled “Celebrating Black Achievement.” Join DCA in this celebration of the creative contributions, achievements and rich legacies (past and current) made by African Americans.
Both professional and amateur artists are invited to submit artwork that is inspired by or created by African Americans, including youth artists between the ages 14 and 17. The submitted artwork will be selected by a panel of jurors and featured in the “Celebrating Black Achievement” exhibition in February 2024.
Considered mediums include:
• Drawings
• Paintings
• Fine art prints
• Sculpture
• Mixed media
• Ceramics
• Photography
• Textile
To be considered, artists are asked to apply online at dorchesterarts.org, and submit the form by Jan. 8, 2024. Artists will be notified of their acceptance on or before Jan. 12, 2024. The Second Saturday Artists’ Reception will be held Feb. 10, 2024, with artist talks, live music and light refreshments. Artists are welcome to sell their work in this exhibition.
