CAMBRIDGE — Every year from November to May, seniors everywhere are getting anxious when checking their mail for college acceptance letters. Two extraordinary seniors at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School were able to begin their senior year relaxed because they received their acceptance before their senior year even started! Nathaniel Lowe and Austin Nichols are likely to have a very good senior year now that their future plans are concrete. Both young men will be attending Pennsylvania College of Technology, one of the most premier trade schools in North America. They will be pursuing a degree in welding engineering.

Both young men are currently enrolled in welding at the Dorchester Career and Technology Center and are earning credits and certification in structural welding. Upon graduation from high school, Nathaniel and Austin will have their certification in welding. Ray O’Brien was their instructor in welding, however retired. They have been taught by Christopher Baker since second semester last year.

Mr. Baker has been impressed with both Nathanial and Austin since he took over the welding program and said, “both men combine sports, hard work, and all around great attitudes towards education. They are a pleasure to have in the classroom and truly are an inspiration.”

Cambridge–South Dorchester High School and DCTC are very proud of Nathaniel and Austin.Mr. Baker added, “Nathaniel and Austin are great examples of what trade schools can offer to determined young men and women from all over the United States.  I have no doubt they will be successful in this journey and the next. “
