CAMBRIDGE — On Nov. 7, 33 juniors at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School were inducted into the Ella B. Walter Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Current Chapter President Faizan Ahmed led the ceremony, where he introduced all new inductees and officers. He welcomed Aamna Alvi as vice president, Samuel Padilla as treasurer, Amanda Bair as secretary, and Talayasia Young as parliamentarian.

Those inducted into the chapter were recognized not only for being some of the best and brightest students in the school but also for displaying four key principles: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Only by living by these morals, coupled with a 3.7 cumulative GPA, were these students chosen to join.

Those inducted were Aamna Alvi, Amanda Bair, Brice Bromwell, Jasper Coles Hood, Samuel Colman, Allen Corbman, MaKayla Dockins, Tatyana Dugars, Christy Foxwell, John Henry, Jacquelin Insley, Cézanne Jackson, Ke’Myra Jones, Sa’Shea Jones, Natalie Kerr, Khloe Kues, Lachlan Malkus, Andrew Martin, Joseph Newman, Joshua Newman, Madison Pleasants, Ashlie Price, Christopher Ramirez, Jade Ruark, Alexandra Schwarz, Ja’Nae Smith, Alexus Spriggs, Damian Thomas, Jordan Todd, Chloe Trinh, Jasmine Walker, Taylor Werner, and Eric Willey Jr.

Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Alumnus, Class of 2013 and current physical education and health teacher, Brendan Bromwell, concluded the ceremony with an inspiring speech. In his speech, he reminded the students to continue to excel both in school and the community, encouraging them to ignore any distractions present in their lives.

Following the ceremony, light refreshments were served by the senior members of the National Honor Society. Many people enjoyed the relaxed conversation and comradery before the night concluded, everyone leaving with a smile plastered on their faces.
