CAMBRIDGE — The 2018 senior class of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School is excited to be performing the Addams Family Musical this upcoming March 8-11. This play is going to be a real treat for the audience due to the light-hearted and fun loving nature of the cast and the characters they portray.
The Addams Family Musical starts off with Wednesday (Allison Loeffler) coming of age and growing up. She meets a love interest, Lucas (Avery Woolford) and this brings lots of changes for the Addams Family. In typical teenage fashion she is mortified by how weird her family is and poor Lucas doesn’t know how to deal with his family being so “normal.”
Uncle Fester (Jay Johns), tells us that Wednesday, under protest, has invited her new boyfriend Lucas Beineke and his parents, Mal (Sam Glessner) and Alice (Katelyn Hagan) to dinner, where they will play “The Game.” Later in the evening, while torturing Pugsley (Brooks McDuffie) on a rack, Wednesday admits that she is having strange feelings of love and compassion for the first time in her life.
This is a strange and magical time for the whole family as they deal with Wednesday coming of age and beginning to break from family traditions.
Her parents, Morticia (Micah Slacum) and Gomez (Phillip Dodge), who do a Tango every night to keep their love alive, are dismayed at her changes. Just when things are starting to appear normal, Uncle Fester admits that his true love is the moon and flies off to meet his true love. If you want to know how this tale ends, come to the play and find out!
Shows are March 8, March 9 and March 10 at 7 p.m. and Matinees on March 10 at 2 p.m. and March 11 at 3 p.m.
