ANNAPOLIS — It was an early start, but Next Generation Scholars from Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, together with Ms. Bell and Mr. Reed, headed to the state capital on Tuesday morning for Youth Congress Day, a gathering of 100 students from across the state.
The event is sponsored by the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education to teach students about the legislative process and inspire students to become active in their communities.
The group will observe the General Assembly in action, attend a luncheon and a legislative briefing meeting. Student Ambassador Rip Cornish, a 9th grader from C-SDHS, was invited to give the invocation and benediction at the luncheon.
