CAMBRIDGE – The Vikings have reached the Final Four in the Region 1A state championship playoffs, after Cambridge-South Dorchester High School (10-2) beat the SEED School on Friday, 46-8. Playing at home, the Vikings began the game the way they ended it, with a dominant performance – the score was 27-0 in the first quarter.

This week’s game at Fort Hill looks to be a closer contest. The Sentinels are undefeated in their 11 games, and have compiled a points for/against ratio of 400/124 similar to C-SD’s 444/116.

The similarities hold true when looking at scoring averages by quarter and whole games.

By quarter, C-SD has averaged 5.0, 14.0, 7.0 and 7.0, while Fort Hill’s numbers are 9.4, 18.4, 4.0 and 6.7. That works out to an average score of 37.0 for the Vikings, and 36.4 for the Sentinels.

Mountain Ridge has also moved to the semi-finals, after beating Catoctin on Friday, 37-17. They will face Perryville, which beat Lake Clifton, 38-0.

The winners of the semi-final games will face each other for the State Championship.
