CAMBRIDGE — The Board of Education of Dorchester County announced the appointment of W. David Bromwell to a four-year term, beginning July 1, as Superintendent of Dorchester County Public Schools.

Mr. Bromwell was appointed by a unanimous roll call vote at the Feb. 20, Board of Education Meeting. Mr. Bromwell has served as Interim Superintendent since July 1, 2019.

In related news, three seats on the Board of Education are in contention in this fall’s elections.

District 1 is now represented by Glenn Bramble. Michael Diaz, Steven McDonald and Phil Bramble areout

candidates. There will be a primary election in this district only, because there are more than two candidates.

District 3’s incumbent is Phillip Rice, the current president. Susan Morgan is challenging Mr. Rice for this office.

District 5’s seat is currently occupied by Laura Layton. Lynette Molock has registered as a candidate for this office.
