Books in the Belfry: Fall events coming to the library

CAMBRIDGE – Fall is just around the corner – and so is our fall program lineup for September through November. All events are free and open to the public, regardless of library membership. Library cards are free, as well, and will provide you access to both in-print materials and digital titles. Don’t miss our fun fall selections and events.

Cambridge Library

  • Monthly take-home crafts will be available starting in October.
  • Story Time – Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
  • Teen Anime Club – Every Wednesday at 4 p.m. (for ages 12-17)
  • Dorchester Discussions Adult Book Club – The fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. See Marco Garcia for more details.
  • Bilingual Family Concert with Nathalia Palis – Sept. 30, 2 p.m.
  • 3-D Print Night (ages 15-adult) – Oct. 17, 5:30 p.m.
  • Stitch & Knit Adult Crafting Night – Thursdays, 5 p.m., Oct. 26 and Nov. 16; Handi-crafters, bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks and get crafty with us.
  • Family Halloween Party – Oct. 28, 2 p.m.; Come in costume
  • Genre Tasting Event for Adults – Nov. 19, 6:30 p.m.; Sample and discover a new genre that suits your tastes and discuss with your fellow readers.
  • Panel discussion of “There, There”: A Discussion of Modern Native Life, based on the One MD One Book by Tommy Orange – Nov. 12, 3-5 p.m., free copies of the book available at both library branches, while supplies last. (This program is in partnership with the Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance/Handsell House and Maryland Humanities.)
  • Family Fun Night: BINGO! – Nov. 14, 6:30 p.m.; Prizes and fun for all ages

Hurlock Library:

  • Story Time – Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
  • Anime Club – Every second Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
  • STEM Night – Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 16
  • Book End Painting – Drop by anytime during the week of Sept. 25-29
  • Cryptids & Crafts – Oct. 17, 4:30 p.m.; Make your own creepy creature
  • One MD One Book Discussion, “There, There” by Tommy Orange – Oct. 20, 1 p.m.
  • Movie Makeup Tutorial (ages 13+) – Oct. 24, 5:30 p.m. (Think Halloween vibes)
  • Family-Friendly Halloween Movie Night – Oct. 27, 4:30 p.m.
