TAYLORS ISLAND — The Taylors Island Boat Docking Challenge 2021 took place on Aug. 30, bringing a uniquely Chesapeake-style sport to this bayside community. The event has become an annual tradition, not only as popular entertainment, but also as a way to support the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company.
In this unique community event w”atermen and women show off their skills and battle for prizes by maneuvering their boats at breakneck speeds in very tight quarters to get their boats docked,” a statement from organizers said. 100% of proceeds benefit the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company, which is in need of a new fire engine.”
