Betty Elizabeth Myster Cornish

Betty Elizabeth Myster Cornish, 74 CAMBRIDGE - Betty Elizabeth Myster Cornish, 74, formerly of Cambridge, departed this life on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, N.Y. She was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Cambridge, daughter of the late James Alfred and Sadie Elizabeth Bailey Myster. Betty attended the Pine Street Elementary School and was a graduate of F.D. St. Clair High School Class of 1952. She was employed for over two decades at Airpax Electronics. On Sept. 2, 1962, she married the late Marten Cornish to whom she was married to for 28 years. Betty was an active member of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church. She sang with the Angelic Choir and the J&B Family Ensemble. She was also an active member of Oziel Chapter # 23 Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were scrapbooking, cooking, History, art and after relocating to Ithaca, N.Y., keeping up with the news in Cambridge. Betty made friends where ever she went. She was a devoted mother and sister and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Kimerly Cornish of Ithaca; siblings, Mildred Myster and Annette Myster, both of Cambridge, Barbara Simms of Hurlock, Phyllis Myster of Cambridge, Lizel Myster of Capitol Heights, and Jackie Myster of Woodstock; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Myster of Woodstock, and Jean Ford (Glen, Sr.) of Cambridge; two brothers-in-law, James Cornish (Joyce) of Cambridge, and Virgil Simms of Hurlock; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Waugh Chapel UM Church with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Eastern Star services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Waugh Cemetery. Condolences sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
