Bessie H. Shaw, 95 VERO BEACH, Fl. - Bessie Hundley Shaw, 95, died June 29, 2008 in Vero Beach, Florida. Christened Bessie Ruth, she was the daughter of Charles Bradley Hundley and Ruth Ann Sterling Hundley of Crisfield. She was born in Onancock, Virginia while her parents were traveling. From about age 7 on, she was raised by her aunt Mary Hundley Gandy and Mary's husband William Gandy. She graduated from Crisfield High School in 1930. In 1937 she married Joseph Shaw, a former manager of the W. T. Grant store in Crisfield. The Shaw's lived in Westbrook, Maine from 1938 to 1958 and in South Portland, Maine from 1958 through 2001. In 2002 they moved to Vero Beach to be close to their son and only child, Joseph Shaw, Jr. In addition to her son, Mrs. Shaw is survived by her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Shaw, and granddaughters Karen and Susan. She was predeceased by her husband, by her older brother Charles Ralph and her sister Margaret. The fate of her younger brother Roy is unknown. No services are scheduled at this time. At a future date Mrs. Shaw's ashes along with her husband's will be scattered off the coast of Maine in accordance with their wishes.
