Barry T. Fox Jr., 87 EASTON - Barry T. Fox Jr. died on June 2, 2010. He was 87 years old. Born in Easton on Feb. 15, 1923, he was the son of the late Barry T., Sr. and Minnie Effie Hutchison Fox. After graduating from Easton High School, he served in the U. S. Army. After his time in the military, he began working in the trucking business. He became the owner of Fox Trucking, Inc. a position he still held at the time of his death. Mr. Fox enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to gospel concerts and spending time at his property, Fox Haven, in St. Michaels. He was a lifetime deacon and member of the Easton Church of the Brethren, a member of the Easton Ruritan and the Elks Lodge #1622. In 1996, he was named Talbot County's Most Beautiful Person and received a Governor's citation. July 4, 2000 was named Barry T. Fox Day by Mayor Butler in recognition of his service to Easton Celebrations and various community organizations. Mr. Fox helped with various food distribution programs including SHARE, Maryland Food Bank, Feed the Hungry, and the Mid Atlantic District Church of the Brethren Beef Canning Project. He stored clothing for Church World Service. He also collected relief goods and provided transportation services to victims of various hurricanes and tornadoes, transported trees for the Festival of Trees for the Talbot Hospice Foundation, and participated in the Adopt a Bear Program. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Vivian "Pete" Plugge Fox, who he married on Jan. 10, 1954; his children, Gary Fox and his wife, Kathy, of Easton, Geoffrey Fox and his wife, Lee Ann of Easton, and Renee Edsall and her husband, Doug of Cordova; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Fox, Christopher Fox, Marlee Fox, Corey Edsall, Casey Edsall, and Cameron Edsall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Callie Edsall; and his sisters, Evelyn Harding, Polly Weisbrod, Mary Miller, Pearl Bowman, and Rosalie Outten. A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Easton on Saturday, June 12 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Mark's United Methodist Church on Friday, June 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Easton Church of the Brethren, 412 S.
