SALISBURY - Barbara J. Blankenship died Jan. 29, 2015. Born on Jul. 19, 1929, in Cleveland, Tenn., the daughter of the late G.L. and Grace Jones. For over 25 years, Barbara ran a small business with her husband. Upon moving to the Eastern Shore from Tennessee she and her family became members of Allen Memorial Baptist Church. Prior to her illness, she and her husband attended the First Baptist Church of Delmar. Her passions were her faith and her family. She is survived by her son, George E. Blankenship Jr.; her daughter, Donna Blankenship Leffew; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Dunn and Faye Whayland; brother, Ray Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George E. Blankenship Sr. and her brothers, Paul Jones, J.D. Jones and J.R. Jones, all of Salisbury. A service was held will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed in Wicomico Memorial Park.
