BKN--NBA FINALS-TRUMP-SECURITY

No watch party at Madison Square Garden with Trump attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals

SUMMARY: Police scuttled an NBA Finals watch party near Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks warned fans to get to Monday’s matchup at least two hours early as part of enhanced security measures with President Donald Trump attending the game. Trump is a longtime Knicks fan who confirmed Friday that he would attend the first NBA Finals game in New York since 1999. Part of the fallout from Trump’s visit was the cancellation of a Game 3 watch party outside MSG. The NYPD said the decision was made in coordination with the Secret Service. Also, the Knicks are warning fans to bring as little as possible to Game 3 and encouraging them to arrive early as part of enhanced security measures with Trump attending the game.

BBO--DIAMONDBACKS-KEPLER

Max Kepler signs with Diamondbacks while still serving suspension for performance-enhancing drugs

SUMMARY: The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed outfielder Max Kepler, who is still serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Terms of the deal were not announced. Kepler will not be able to report to the team until June 25, when his suspension ends. He will remain on the restricted list and not count against Arizona’s 40-man roster until then. Kepler tested positive in January for Epitrenbolone, a metabolite of Trenbolone that’s contained in some products used in body-building stores and has been used in products to promote cattle growth. The 33-year-old Kepler hit .216 with 18 homers and 52 RBIs with Philadelphia last year after agreeing to a $10 million, one-year contract.

GLF--US WOMEN’S OPEN

Nelly Korda wins U.S. Women’s Open title with perilous final putt, claiming her 2nd straight major

SUMMARY: Nelly Korda won the 81st U.S. Women’s Open for her second consecutive major victory. She held off Charley Hull and Gaby Lopez by one shot when her final 2 1/2-foot par putt curled perilously around the cup and finally dropped in. Korda’s first U.S. Open win is the fourth major victory of her career, and she claimed it with a steady 2-under 69 in the final round. But only after her last putt caught the left edge and toured half the circumference of the hole before dropping. Korda made a 9-foot birdie putt on the 17th.

CAR--NASCAR-MICHIGAN

Denny Hamlin dedicates NASCAR victory at Michigan to Kyle Busch after tying him on career win list

SUMMARY: Denny Hamlin went from the rear to first again Sunday, winning at Michigan International Speedway to earn his second consecutive NASCAR Cup Series victory from the pole position. Just like last week’s win at Nashville Superspeedway when the Joe Gibbs Racing car was penalized for jumping the start, Hamlin qualified first at Michigan but dropped to the back at the green flag because of a penalty for unapproved adjustments to his No. 11 Toyota. He took the lead for good on a three-wide pass during a restart with 38 laps remaining, sweeping into first around Daniel Suarez and Carson Hocevar.

GLF--MEMORIAL

J.T. Poston loses a 4-shot lead and comes up clutch to win Memorial in a playoff

SUMMARY: J.T. Poston has won the Memorial, just not the way anyone would have imagined. Poston returned Sunday morning to complete the third round and built a four-shot lead. But that was gone on the turn and it turned into a mad scramble. Poston made a 7-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 72 to force a playoff with Ryan Gerard. He won on the second extra hole when Gerard three-putted from some 55 feet. Gerard was mistake-free most of the day until missing a 6-foot par putt. The victory gives Poston a spot in the next three majors.

BBO--YANKEES-CHISHOLM-JUDGE’S BAT

Jazz Chisholm Jr. borrows Aaron Judge’s bat and hits 3-run homer to lead Yankees over Red Sox 6-1

SUMMARY: Jazz Chisholm Jr. has found a way to keep Aaron Judge’s bat in the Yankees’ lineup. On Sunday, he borrowed the injured captain’s bat and hit a three-run homer, leading New York to a 6-1 win over the Red Sox. Chisholm often uses teammates’ gear, including Giancarlo Stanton’s pants. Judge is sidelined with a fractured rib and will have more imaging in about four-to-six weeks. New York is 2-3 without him, but Chisholm is stepping up. He hit his eighth homer this season and is improving his stats. Stanton might return soon, and the Yankees are close to first place in the AL East.

Christian Eriksen ‘conscious’ after another on-field collapse in Denmark match, national team says

SUMMARY: Christian Eriksen is conscious and undergoing further tests in the hospital after collapsing on the field again while playing for Denmark’s national team in a scary scene that had echoes of his cardiac arrest at the European Championship five years ago. TV images showed the 34-year-old Erikson clutching his chest with both hands in the 65th minute of Denmark’s home international friendly against Ukraine in Odense on Sunday. In the next TV image shown, Erikson was on the ground and surrounded by players. The match was later abandoned. The Danish soccer federation says Eriksen is “conscious and, under the circumstances, doing well.”

TEN--FRENCH OPEN FINAL

Years of pent-up emotions came flooding out of Alexander Zverev when he finally won the French Open

SUMMARY: Alexander Zverev is no longer one of the best players never to win a major title. He’s finally a Grand Slam champion. In his fourth major final Zverev beat Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 for the French Open title. It was a unique opportunity for Zverev without Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz across the net and the third-ranked German took full advantage on the red clay of Roland Garros. The 14th-ranked Cobolli had never been past a Grand Slam quarterfinal until this week. He was attempting to become the first Italian man to raise the singles trophy at Roland Garros since Adriano Panatta 50 years ago.

HKN--STANLEY CUP

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

SUMMARY: The Carolina Hurricanes find themselves at a potential crossroads in the Stanley Cup Final. They fell behind by four goals in Game 3 at the Vegas Golden Knights, changed goaltenders and still lost in double overtime to trail 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. After a bunch of blown leads by either team and momentum swings both ways, who starts in net for Carolina between Frederik Andersen and Brandon Bussi is a lingering question, along with who can take control of a matchup of NHL powerhouses that has become wacky through three games.

CAR--F1-MONACO GP

Kimi Antonelli wins delayed Monaco Grand Prix to extend his victory streak and F1 lead

SUMMARY: Kimi Antonelli’s rise to the top of Formula 1 continued in bizarre circumstances as the 19-year-old Mercedes driver won a much-delayed Monaco Grand Prix. Antonelli was on course for victory with 10 laps remaining when the race was red-flagged as parts of the asphalt broke away and two cars crashed in quick succession, one of them Charles Leclerc in third place. The race resumed from a standing start and Antonelli took his fifth Grand Prix win in a row and extended his already vast standings lead. Numerous drivers received time penalties or were under investigation, meaning the final standings remained uncertain.

The rapper gave the New York Knicks coach some grief about the kind of sneakers he wears, then asked for an autographed pair if they win the championship, as the team’s celebrity fans got into the action during a practice day at the NBA Finals. Actor Ben Stiller also was at Madison Square Garden, taking video and meeting the coach for the first time. Fat Joe said the Knicks’ first trip to the NBA Finals since 1999 has united the city.

Victor Wembanyama says he’s ‘built for’ the pressure of the NBA Finals with the Spurs down 2-0

SUMMARY: Victor Wembanyama is not shying away from the spotlight in the NBA Finals. The San Antonio Spurs wouldn’t want it any other way. Two days after missing a shot at the end of Game 2 that would have beaten the New York Knicks and evened the series, the 22-year-old big man said he is built for the pressure of the situation. It just hasn’t seen much of the NBA Finals. The New York Knicks have brought the finals back to their home court for the first time since 1999. Fans are spending astonishingly high prices for tickets and the potential to witness a celebration more than five decades in the making. Cadillac gets and then loses elusive 1st point in F1 as Sergio Pérez penalized

SUMMARY: Cadillac’s team principal has hailed an “incredible testament to the resolve of the team” as Formula 1’s newest constructor came close to an elusive first point, only to lose it to a penalty. Sergio Pérez finished strongly at the Monaco Grand Prix to cross the line in 10th but was bumped down to 15th after the race when he was ruled to have false-started when the race resumed after an earlier suspension. That penalty handed 10th and the single championship point to Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin, which has been Cadillac’s closest rival through most of the season so far and had also yet to score in 2026.

Lawsuit seeks to stop the UFC fight on the White House South Lawn for Trump’s birthday

SUMMARY: A federal lawsuit seeks to halt the upcoming UFC fight card on the White House South Lawn in a mixed martial arts show timed for President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and part of the celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. The filing Saturday by the Public Integrity Project on behalf of two Virginia resident contends the Trump administration’s authorization of the June 14 event violated National Park Service regulations prohibiting sporting events on federal parklands. It also says Congress didn’t consent to the towering arch overlooking the event space and no environmental review was conducted before the construction.
