CAMBRIDGE - Anne F. Ridley, 60, passed away at Dorchester General Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2008.

She was born in Cambridge on May 22, 1947, the daughter of the late William Henry and Marie Hurst Faulkner.

She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965. She earned two bachelors degrees; one in Social Studies from Western Maryland College in 1969 and the other in Music Education from Salisbury University in 1987. She was also certified as a media specialist from the University of Delaware. During high school and college she worked summers at Camp Pecometh.

On May 25, 1969 she was married to the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley. Mrs. Ridley worked as a teacher and media specialist at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School in Wilmington for several years, and for eight years worked at Warwick Elementary School as a media specialist as well as music teacher. While teaching at Warwick Elementary School she was Dorchester County Teacher of the Year for 2005.

Mrs. Ridley enjoyed playing the piano and sang in the choir of various churches which her husband served as Pastor. Mrs. Ridley had also been a member of the Chorus of Dorchester for a number of years and was an avid reader.

She was taken to Dorchester General Hospital early Sunday morning where she passed away on Sunday afternoon.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley of Cambridge; one son, Andrew Blake Ridley of Frederica, Del.; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Rollet and her husband, Jean-Marc Rollet of West Chester, Pa. and two grandchildren, Cacilia Rollet and Luc Rollet.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Thomas McKelvey and the Rev. William Sterling officiating. Burial will take place at the East New Market Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
