CAMBRIDGE - Anna Virginia Wongus, 92, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Mallard Bay Care Center.

Born July 15, 1915 in Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell James Wongus and Hattie Bell Carter Wongus.

Ms. Wongus was educated in the school of Dorchester County. She was employed as a Domestic Worker and Assembly Line Worker for Phillips Packing Co.

She attended Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry F. Wongus, James M. Wongus, Daniel Wongus and Mitchell Wongus and two sisters, Rose Sterling and Sarah Carter.

Her survivors include a sister, Roberta A. Hopkins of Camden, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Alamae Wongus of Cambridge and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Anthony Dickerson will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
