The Friends of Anna Ella Carroll will sponsor this year’s homage which is slated for Aug. 27 at noon. The public is invited to share in the tribute. [/caption] By Susan M. BautzDorchester Banner CHURCH CREEK — The 201st celebration of the birthday of Dorchester County’s Civil War heroine Anna Ella Carroll is slated for Aug. 27 at noon. The Friends of Anna Ella Carroll will offer a public tribute at Old Trinity Church where the advisor to Abraham Lincoln is buried. Noted Carroll biographer C.Kay Larson will speak on various aspects of the effects of the Civil War on Dorchester County including commerce. Participants are welcome to bring bouquets or other tributes to add to the gravesite of this unique woman. The church is located on Taylor Island Road outside of Church Creek.
