FRUITLAND - Alton Thomas Savage Jr. died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Boothwyn, Pa., he was the son of the late Alton Thomas Savage, Sr. and Rhoda Mae Abbott Savage. He was a member of the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, where he had been active singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and nursing home ministry. He worked for Wicomico County as a County Roads Supervisor and Surveyor for 32 years, retiring in 1997. Following retirement, he continued to work for the county as a contractor consultant. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Dunbar Savage; eight children, Tom Savage III of Pensacola, Fla., Jamie Savage of Hebron, Timothy Savage and Jeff Savage, both of Fruitland, Rusty Savage of Birmingham, Ala., Carrie Shockley, Valerie Schor and Terri Savage, all of Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, "Jim" Savage and "Jack" Savage, all of Salisbury; three sisters, Jane Lowry of Orlando, Fla., Celeste Savage and Grace Hurley, both of Salisbury; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Interment was at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
