Alan Dewey Smith

SALISBURY - Alan Dewey Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at his home. Born in Siloam, he was the son of the late Theodore Thomas Smith and Avalon S. Smith.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a lifelong carpenter, having worked for the former Community Builders in Fruitland in addition to being self-employed for many years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three children, Diane June Smith, Alice "Moochie" Lynne Smith and Alan Bryan Smith, all of Salisbury; and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Elsie June Smith.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment was in Siloam Cemetery in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
