The 43rd Annual Showcase event on Sept. 22 was a true celebration of our creative community. Thanks to Showcase manager Tina Johnson, outgoing Education and Program Coordinator for DCA. Benjie Manley, incoming Coordinator, greatly assisted with the event as well. Thanks to all the participating vendors, volunteers, performers and visitors who made the day shine! Showcase is generously supported by the Nathan Foundation.

Next up for DCA are the October exhibits and events in the galleries and the Performance Hall. Oct. 4, the Annual Photography & Digital Arts Exhibit and Competition opens in the main gallery, and “Lesley Giles: Reflections on Water” opens in the front gallery.

• Second Saturday Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Oct. 12, 5-7:30 p.m.
• Ashley Watkins will be bringing her creativity to DCA for a flute performance on Oct. 5, 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for DCA members, $12 for future members.

• The Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit will open Oct. 19 in the Performance Hall at DCA, through a partnership with Cambridge Main Street. Partner organizations throughout the county will be hosting special events, programming, exhibits and activities before, during and after the Smithsonian exhibit.
