Margaret Holliday Hoon Baker passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at Heron Point, Chestertown MD. Margot was born on Dec 11, 1926, in Pittsburgh PA, the eldest child of the late Marian Holliday Hoon and the late Dr. Merle Russell Hoon. She attended Win-chester Thurston School in Pittsburgh and graduated from Welles-ley College in 1948. That year she married Lawrence Martin Baker, whom she met at a dance when 14, while he was attending Harvard Medical School. They ultimately settled in Dover DE where Larry started his surgical practice. Upon his retirement in 2000, they moved to Chestertown MD. Margot was predeceased by her husband Larry in 2011 and daughter Barbara in 2020. Margot is also predeceased by her brother Alexander Hoon and sister Nancy Powell, both of Chestertown. She is survived by daughters Christine Brockmeyer (Tom) of Pittsburgh, Nancy Coffin (Jock) of Greenwich CT, and Marianne Kitchell (Wiley) of Seattle WA. She also leaves 9 adored grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
