DOVER — Dover Police on Monday announced two arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Wilmington woman at Delaware State University on April 21.
Dover residents Destry Jones, 20, and Damien Hinson, 18, were both charged with first-degree murder in the death of Camay Mitchell De Silva, who police said sustained a gunshot wound to her upper body.
Mr. Jones and Mr. Hinson were additionally each charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder of a 20-year-old male and a 21-year-old male, also from Dover, among other offenses.
Police said neither Mr. Jones nor Mr. Hinson are affiiliated with Delaware State University.
Mr. Hinson was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on cash bail exceeding $3 million, police said at a news conference at the department.
Mr. Jones is being held in New York awaiting extradition, police said.
